Michael Monasterio Obituary
Michael Monasterio was born in Burlingame, CA on August 8, 1957 and passed away peacefully at home on February 5, 2013, in Thousand Oaks, CA.
At age 16, Michael moved to Sacramento to pursue his dream of becoming a musician. His passions were the drums and guitar. He performed worldwide as a drummer for several California rock and roll bands including: CP Crunt, Target, Pink Noise, Doctor Whiskey, Assassins and most recently, G.O.D. (Genius on Dope).
Michael was loved by many. He also had many people in his life who he considered close friends. He had a quick wit and was always able to tell a funny story. He was kind, compassionate, and made those he crossed paths with feel special.
Michael leaves behind his partner Lisa D'Mato, 3 daughters, sisters Sherry Monasterio and Rosemary Carlson, brother Joey Monasterio, and other family members. Michael is preceded in death by his father Edward Monasterio, mother Alice Monasterio, sister Pam Monasterio, and daughter Juliet.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held at The Clunie Community Center in Sacramento on Saturday, February 23, 2013, from 3:30 – 7:00pm. There will be a short memorial service followed by a reception. We welcome anyone who knew Michael to please attend.
