Richard Falcon Obituary

Richard Joseph Falcon Jr
January 1, 1992 - January 1, 2021
Sacramento , California - Richard Joseph Falcon Jr, was born in 1992 on New Year Day in Sacramento, CA at Kaiser Hospital to Bonnie and Richard Falcon. Richard was a planned baby. His parents were so happy to have such a precious and loving baby boy.
As a child Richard was skilled in Taekwondo and won many belts. He was very athletic and would later join a dance crew. He loved visiting his bay area cousins and enjoying the roller coasters at Six Flags Great America with them. He often spoke fondly of those childhood memories. As a young boy, Richard and his mom experienced homelessness and had to live in shelters for many years, as well as a halfway house before finally getting their own apartment in 2007. The struggles Richard and his mom experienced gave him the drive, dedication and focus to work hard in his future because he wanted to make sure his future family would never have to share those experiences.
Richard went to many different schools during his upbringing. As a high school student at The Met, he was given part time jobs, first at an auto body shop in South Sacramento and then with a Pet Groomer. He worked hard even then and was loved at both jobs.
I his wife (Angelica Franklin) as he always referred to me as when I met Richard at Luther Burbank high school when we were in the 11th grade. He was in a dance crew there and use to perform. He had some serious dance moves! I had the biggest crush on him but was too shy to say anything, funny thing he had a crush on me too. I remember like yesterday when he first asked me out to the movies. We would have lunch together and I was too embarrassed to eat in front of him, so I would act like I wasn't hungry and would give him my food. By our senior year, we were in a relationship he asked me out 12/12/09 and Richard ended up going to Capitol City to finish high school. After school, he would come to Burbank where I still went, and I remember our teacher Mr. Germany would let him share 6th period class with me. These are moments that I will forever treasure.
After high school Richard worked various jobs while I was in college to earn my AA in Social Services, he worked at Starving Students Moving Company, Sears Carpet and Air Duct and then Waste Management where he spent 8 years. We lived with his mother Bonnie and then with my parents during this time and saved money to buy or own home at the age of 25 I was 24 at the time. Richard proposed to me for the 1st time in 2014 but we decided wait. After buying our home on my birthday in 2016, Richard wanted more growth opportunities at work. I motivated Richard to pursue a career in Phlebotomy because it was something I wanted to do but was just about to graduate myself. We had an inside joke about him saying he would never go back to school after all the different schools he had to go to during his youth. He would say, I just want to work.
Eventually he did end up going back to school to pursue a career in Phlebotomy, where he excelled and received his certification. Due to his dedicated work ethic, he was able to get into the medical field to work as a Phlebotomist for Quest Diagnostics. He was very happy there and was the best at what he did. He was so well liked at every job he held. He was such a hard-working man. Everyone loved him
Richard loved the adrenaline rush. He loved going to the fair and getting on those roller coasters. On his spare time he loved spend it with me and the baby. We would travel to the bay area frequently to visit his family and friends. Our most memorable place was San Francisco and our favorite was breaker beach. He loved to go to the movies, go shopping for his hats, sneakers and colognes that he collected…man he was an expensive person! He loved to go for bike rides, to swim and eat. He loved Chinese food, especially general chicken and Mexican food. His favorite sweets were cheesecake, recess candy, funfetti and white cake. Richard always liked to look fresh and made sure his haircut and goat t were perfect.
Our baby girl was his everything to him, their love was unconditional. He was a dedicated partner to me. He loved our little family more than anything in this world.
Richard was tragically taken from us on his 29th birthday. He still had a beautiful life ahead of him and many more memories to make. His death is the most traumatic experience we have had to go through. I know none of can believe this happened to him and our lives will never be the same. Rest in peace Richard, your loss will leave a hole in our hearts. You will forever be loved and missed.

I miss my uncle always
Uncle was always me and my cousins "uncle". Everyone knew that. When we´d say "where´s uncle", everyone would know who we were talking about. We had multiple uncles, but uncle richard was our only "uncle". I miss you always uncle, as you had a special place in me and Annalisa´s heart, and thank you for treating us like your own <3 there isn´t a day that goes by, where I don´t miss you.

Angelica’s life stories of Richard left an indelible mark on those of us having lost a loved one ourselves. While the pain is far too often immeasurable, what genuine happiness he brought to all. I pray this family finds peace after having known and loved this man as much as they did.
