Rodney Kuehne Obituary

Rod Kuehne, adored husband of 67 years to Barbara, beloved Dad to Jim (deceased), and Alan. Loving Father in Law to Sally. Rod taught Drama and English for 25 years. First in Selma, CA, then at La Sierra High School in Carmichael, CA. It was tempting to tell of Rod's many accomplishments but Alan's tribute to his father tells it all. "A teacher who was loved by his students. A man of great integrity. A master luthier and carpenter. We live in his house and played his guitars and sailed his boat. But most of all we loved him so."

Well said Alan. I am a proud recipient of a Best Supporting Actress Rodney and it sits on my desk to this day. I was so fortunate to be able to observe and learn how to do a successful production, both back and front stage, to sell out the house!!! I use these skills everyday and am grateful for what he taught me.

A beautiful tribute to Rod was the obituary. An even greater tribute is the positive wake he always left behind as he moved through his life. We will miss you, Dear Friend.

Thank you for the opportunities you gave me to work on productions, especially Guys and Dolls. You were always caring and kind. Bless your family.

Mr. Kuehene became an inspiration to me on the first day of class in September, 1965. Lessons learned in class and in rehearsals serve me well to this day. May God bless you and welcome you into his arms, Mr Kuehne.
