Jeanne Bauman Obituary

Born December 26, 1926, Jeanne "Granny" Bauman led a full life up to her sudden death on August 22, 2017. Jeanne was born in Chicago, IL to Clarence and Dema Marinos Witt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Louise and Dorothea; and her brother, Clarence, Jr. In 1945 Jeanne married her World War II pen-pal, Fred Pryse, 11 days after their first meeting. Jeanne and Fred had two daughters, Carole Pryse Crowe and Teri Pryse. Fred died in 1964. In 1970 Jeanne married Wayne Bauman. She is survived by Wayne; her daughters; her son-in-law, Steve Flood; her step-son, Chris Bauman; five cherished grandchildren, David (Kim) Welch, Tiffany Donohue, Heather Veto, Jennifer Burnett and Jason (Susan) Hooks. She will never be forgotten by 14 great-grand-children: Brian (Jennifer) Donohue, Matthew Brousseau, Kristyn (Brandon) Fisher, D. J. Welch, Nathan DeGeorge, Branden Brousseau, Hunter Welch, Austyn Donohue, Devyn Donohue, Hayley Keller, Sydney Hooks, Carson Burnett, Ryleigh Hooks and Olivia Fonseca. Jeanne had been a resident of Sacramento since 1960, and was active in the insurance industry for over 30 years. She was a selfless and compassionate woman, a caring wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother and a fun-loving friend. Jeanne was young at heart and in spirit until the day she died. Her family will be forever grateful for her love, support and sacrifices. At Jeanne's request there will be no services. She will be buried with her first husband, Fred, at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, CA. A celebration of Jeanne's life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Jeanne's family suggests donations to the Sacramento SPCA, 6201 Florin Perkins Road, Sacramento, CA.

So sorry to hear this news! My thoughts and prayers are with her family. I've known Jeanne for over 40 years as she worked for my Dad, Frank Jones. I know she's giving him an earful up there! Ha! I got to see her recently and it was such a treat to see her and hug her and reminisce with her. God Bless
