I have wonderful memories of President and Sister Schwendiman. I served under them in the Germany Hamburg Mission 1973-1975. I appreciate so much their kindness, loving examples, and time spent in training all of us how to be the best missionaries and Latter-day Saints we could be.

A loving and welcoming Mission President. I have fond memories of his family and his home as he lead by example as the leader of our Mission. He took the time after his mission to Germany to visit with my father as he travelled through Southern Utah. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

So grateful for Brother Schwendiman. I read his name and see his signature on my Patriarchal blessing every time I read it. I am thankful for the inspiration and revelation from God that came through him. My prayers are with his family.

He's Bishop Schwendiman to me, and he's one of the GOOD GUYS in my life. Some of the first gospel messages that stuck were from Bishop S. Speaking for my parents, they loved him, too. I was in the Cottonwood Fifth Ward and lived in the Tanglewood community, in the home of Keith & Cleo Bowen. Thanks, Bishop S.

He's Bishop Schwendiman to me, from my youth, and he's one of the GOOD GUYS in my life. Some of my first gospel lessons that stuck were from Bishop S. I grew up in the Cottonwood Fifth Ward and in the Tanglewood neighborhood in the home of Keith & Cleo Bowen.

We both have such sweet memories associated with the Schwendimans. Richard's go back to Germany, and especially Gary's help to his mother, Thelma Fetzer. The mantle of the priesthood came easily and lingered on Gary. Along the the way, he shouldered major responsibilities and never forgot to serve the one.
Gladys' memories go to our experiences in Canyon Road Towers. Gary and Marva would give me rides to Rose Park, where we tutored immigrant children. They became my example of quiet good works.
Intelligence, musical talent, love, compassion, modesty--this wonderful couple were exemplary in all. We bless their name.
