Donna Oldham Obituary

1929 ~ 2017
Donna passed away August 11, 2017. She was born March 12, 1929, in Salt Lake City to Edward and Isabell Olson and grew up in Magna, Utah. She married the love of her life, Rulon Oldham, September 24, 1947. Four years later, on their anniversary, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised their family in Granger, Utah. Rulon died May 18, 1976. Donna waited 41 years to be reunited with him.
Donna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions in her life, but has fond memories of her time in Ward and Stake positions in the Young Women's program.
Donna was surrounded by good, kind neighbors and friends. The most treasured being her "Club" friends, which consisted of her school friends with a few cousins and sisters included. She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1946. She loved her family very much and enjoyed all the time spent with family and friends. Donna loved to attend her grandkids sporting and dance events. She never complained or had a harsh word to say.
Donna was employed by the Utah State Legislature where she utilized her proficient skills taking and transcribing short hand. She also worked with the Seminary program of the Church at Granger High School when her children were growing up, and after Rulon passed away, worked for Salt Lake County where she made many lasting friendships.
Donna enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz, Dancing with the Stars and making cookies. You were a lucky person if you were the recipient of some of her cookies.
The family would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care and Mom's neighbors and Ward members for their kind, compassionate service to her. They appreciate it and know that she did as well.
Survivors include her children: Leslie (Mark) Dean, Carl (Angie) Kelly (Lisa); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Rulon; son Danny; parents; and brother Lyn.
A viewing will be held Sunday, August 20th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 21st, 10:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South.
