James Sullivan
August 8, 2025
Sending my condolences. I came across James in my studies of history and engineering. Naturally as a James Sullivan myself (I also go by Jim), I took the time to learn what I could about him. From what I could surmise he was quite an admirable man that built a long lasting legacy. I grew up just south of Albany, NY and don´t believe I´ve ever been able to make it to NYC in less than 2 hours (for those who don´t know, James Sullivan made it from NYC to London in under 2 hours flying the SR-71).

I was assigned to the Physiological Support Division at Beale 69-74 My job was to suit up the SR71 pilots of which one of the was Col Sullivan. He flew his REO Widdifield. It seems we have lost many of that era however I am sure they are recanting those mission experiences.
God Bless you and I salute you

I first met Jim in March 1974. We were pilot colleagues in the SR-71 squadron at Beale Air Force, California.
He was a superb officer, an exceptional pilot and an icon in the Blackbird community.
He will be greatly missed by us all.
Nancy, you and your family are closely in our thoughts and prayers.
We want you to know you have our sincere condolences.

In loving memory of a wonderful person and fun classmate. Our class reunions from Riverdale High School were always so exciting when you were there. On behalf of our class of 1955 we remember and will never forget!
