Raymond Marsh Obituary

1948 ~ 2018
St. George, UT -To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. R. Gibb Marsh, husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on June, 21, 2018, after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 69.
Gibb was born on October 23, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William A. Marsh and Ruth Davis Marsh. He grew up in the same house on Blaine Avenue in Salt Lake City, where he had many fond memories of his family, friends and neighbors.
He graduated from Highland High School in 1967 and from the University of Utah in 1972 with a degree in Finance. He married Marilee Moosman on June 15, 1973. After graduation Gibb went to work for Prudential Federal Savings, which later became Olympus Bank, where he worked for 23 years. Gibb started as a residential loan officer, held various management positions, and ended up as the President of Olympus Bank, prior to its sale in 1995. He then went to work for Sentry Financial Corporation, where he worked full time for 18 years and part time for another four years. He was the Chief Credit Officer.
Gibb was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many leadership positions over the years.
His favorite past times included: trips with the Corvette Club, golfing with anyone who would go, and his garden railroad.
Gibb is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marilee; his children: Melissa (Ryan) Park, Michelle (Grant) Hagenno, Kevin Marsh, and David Marsh; four grandchildren: Kylie, Kasey, Makenzie, and Dylan; and his brother, Bill. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Gibb had many titles on his business cards over the years, but the titles he liked best were husband, dad, and grandpa.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dixie Cancer Center of St. George, UT
The family would like to thank Dr. Lincoln Nadauld and the nurses at Dixie Cancer Center and Applegate Homecare and Hospice for their excellent care.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd, St. George, Utah. IT SEEMS SO UNFAIR THAT DEATH SHOULD HAVE THE POWER TO TAKE AWAY SOMEONE YOU LOVE. AND WHEN IT HAPPENS, THE THOUGHT OF NEVER AGAIN BEING ABLE TO TALK TO, LAUGH WITH OR SIMPLY HOLD THEIR HAND CAN BE MOST DIFFICULT TO BEAR.MAY YOU ALWAYS KEEP TREASURED MEMORIES IN YOUR HEART. AND MAY YOU ALSO FIND COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED ON IN DEATH GOD KEEPS IN HIS MEMORY BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL PRECIOUS IN HIS EYES.(PSALMS 116:15)

I wished we could have spent more fun times with you and Marilee. It seems we take a lot for granted when we have a whim to do sometihing at a moments thought and put it off for a next time? That's what happened last week when I came back to town from Salk Lake, I told Claudia let's drop in on Gib and Marilee and drive the 97 Corvette to show them we still are driving it since we bought it from you in 2003. The next day we got the call that Gib had passed. My point to this is don't put off when you get that feeling to follow your thought, for there may be no next time... you can't ever go back ! Our Loving thoughts go out to you Marilee and your families.
