Mayor Seghini was the officiant at our wedding in June 2013. She was so genuine!!! She was the epitome of grace and professionalism. Midvale and the entire State of Utah has lost a great champion for many causes. Rest well Mayor. If you run across my sweet husband...say hello!

When I saw the obituary, I remembered all the kind words my husband, Robert Anthony Sumbot, a long time Midvale Middle School teacher had to say about her. His father, Tony, owned the Midvale Shoe Repair shop which his brothers, John and Tom kept running for many years after their father passed away. Bob was well known in Midvale and had great words to say about the community as did JoAnn. Bob passed away shortly before JoAnn (June 6,2020), so she had a friend where she was going. Rest in Peace, both of you!

What a great sweet lady. JoAnn was my sponsor when I was baptized in the Catholic Church St. Terese. I will miss her smiling face at Church. May she rest in peace.

JoAnn was a dear friend, mentor and advocate for me and countless women in Jordan School District. I so appreciate all she did for me and others in our quest to help children, and especially gifted children aspire to reach their best and serve others. I loved her for her incredible diverse outreach that did so very much good throughout the schools and communities of the Salt Lake Valley. I've never known anyone else who did more good for more causes and touched more people for good than she. What a great example she was of doing the most good in the most places possible! My heart goes out to all her family members and extend my sympathy and love to you at this difficult time.
