Betsy Reed Obituary

Betsy (Betty ) Miller Reed 1919 ~ 2004  Betsy (Betty) Miller Reed passed away April 15, 2004 in St. George, Utah of causes incident to age. Betsy was born 23 July, 1919 in Arco, Idaho to Verna and Lola Johnson Miller of Hyrum, Utah. She was educated in Utah schools and served as a teacher in Utah, Nevada, and California. After coming to California she met and married Dr. Max P. Reed in the Logan Temple. She was a member of the LDS church and served in many of the church organizations. She was also active in Scouting, P.T.A., and the Napa Valley Art Association. She and her husband served a full-time mission to Tallahassee, Florida and were ordinance workers in the St. George Temple. She is survived by her husband; sons, Vernon M. (Caralee), and Darrell B. (Rosalba); five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two brothers, Kae (Leona) Miller, and Gerald (Judy) Miller; and a sister, Maruine (Bill) Jacobsen; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Hillcrest 3rd Ward Chapel, 8600 So. 1100 E., Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior at the church. A viewing will also be held at the Heideman Mortuary in St. George April 18th from 5-6 p.m.

Aunt Betty is a thoughtful kind soul. She always remembered my birthday as I grew up. I remember fondly her giving me a blue china plate. On the back of it she recorded its origin and family significance.
