WINSHIP
Lillian Doris Cage Winship was born on October 12, 1914 in Bishop Texas and died peacefully in her sleep, on October 24, 2012. Lillian met her husband to be, Glenn Winship while attending San Antonio Junior College. She was happily married to the love of her life for 59 years. Lillian and Glenn loved their family and always put them first. They enjoyed hosting family celebrations and holidays at their home. Extended family and friends would gather for these family dinners, Easter egg hunts and back yard swimming parties. Lillian was a shrewd bridge player, an avid follower of sports, frequent world traveler, and she and Glenn loved entertaining and traveling with their grand children. They hosted many gatherings of friends and family for hunting and fishing parties at their ranch home, Los Nopales, in El Indio, Texas. In her later years Lillian proved herself to be an excellent needle point artist. Christmas stockings for each of her children, and grandchildren; then for each of her great-grandchildren, then for the nieces, she never stopped planning and working. She was blessed with good eyesight and the dexterity that allowed her to continue to do this work, use her computer, follow sports and politics, read good books, and live in her own home until she died. With the help of her niece, Sylvia Flannery, she was able to share the maintenance and companionship of her precious dog, Jingles until she died.
She was a member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, PEO AL chapter, and the Argyle Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Eyestone and husband, David of San Antonio, Janice Kizer of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Barbara Winship of San Antonio; granddaughters, Lauren Rudd and husband, Paul of Austin, Kimberly Brienzi and husband, Frank of Austin, Michelle Edwards and her husband, Brian of San Antonio, Rebecca Kizer of San Antonio; grandsons, Jim Kinzie and his wife, Susan of Lantana, Tom Kinzie of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Glenn Winship and his wife, Tiffany of San Antonio, ten great-grandchildren, Jessica and Hunter Rudd of Austin, Connor Kinzie of Lantana, Luke Brienzi of Austin, Gage and Garrett Edwards of San Antonio, Alexis, Logan, Jack and Pierce Winship of San Antonio, and many much loved and appreciated nieces and nephews.
