December 16, 1923 - December 6, 2014
Jeannette T. Hudler, age 90, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2014. She was born on December 16, 1923 in Alamo, TX to Henry & Minnie Toothaker. She moved to San Antonio in 1943 and soon married Edsel G. Hudler. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Jeannette retired from the SAISD after 20 years in 1988. Jan, as her friends called her, enjoyed volunteer work for Audie Murphy Veterans Administration Hospital, San Antonio Little Theatre, S.A. Conservation Society, Meals on Wheels, Concordia Lutheran Church, and an organization dear to her heart, Roy Maas's Youth Alternatives. After retirement Jan enjoyed traveling to many places such as China, Israel & the Holy Lands, Egypt, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean and throughout the United States with several beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her 2 children, Larry Hudler & wife Doretta and Toya Gallaway & husband Grant; 4 grandchildren, Grant Gallaway Jr. & wife Dayna, Lauren Hudler, Maxwell Hudler and Quinlan Hudler; great granddaughter, Kylee Gallaway; sister, Lucile McKeever; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be 2pm., Wednesday, December 10, 2014 followed by a 3 pm Funeral Service at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
The family wishes to express their "special thanks" to the staff of Autumn Grove Cottage and Heart to Heart Hospice for the outstanding care, love and attention to detail. Larry and family
, my deepest condolences on this day. I did not get to meet your mother but I am sure she was a wonderful mom. Smile and laugh about the things yo
u remember and the good times you had. Just remember that she is only gone for a moment because in a twickling of an eye we who love the Lord will meet in the air with our family and be with them forever
