Thomas Segovia Obituary

SEGOVIA
Thomas Segovia Jr, was born on September 1, 1938, the eldest of 5 children, in San Antonio, Texas and went to be with Our Lord on April 5, 2011, at 1:30pm surrounded by his family. He lived most of his adolescent years in Michigan and San Antonio. He graduated from Fox Tech High School, formerly San Antonio Vo-Tech, in 1959. He enlisted in the United States Navy immediately after graduation. After serving 4 years in the navy, he became employed with the U.S. Postal Service, but continued his enlistment as a reservist with the navy, a member of the Construction Battalion "Seabees". His reserve unit was reactivated to active duty at various times, including during the Vietnam War in the late 1960's. He attained the rating of Chief Petty Officer Hospital Corpsman. He retired in 1991 from the post office and eventually he became a tax preparer after instructing at H & R Block for many years. He was a member of Celebration Bible Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolina Trejo Segovia, father, Tomas B. Segovia, daughter, Judy-lynne Segovia, brothers, Raul & Eliseo (Alex ) Segovia, and sister, Eva Garcia. Thomas is survived by his younger brother, Daniel Segovia, former wife, Rebecca H. Segovia, and children Thomas Segovia III and Carol Segovia Stallings, 6 granddaughters (Meagan, Rachel, Jessica, Morgan, Michaela & Amanda), 1 great grand daughter (Kendall Lynne), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. The family invites his family and friends to visitation on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 5-8pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow on-site at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

I would like to extend my most sincerest condolences to the family of Tom Segovia. I worked with Mr. Segovia when he was station manager at the University Park Post Office. I am a retired City Letter Carrier. I remember Tom very well, he was a great boss. May his soul rest in peace and may the Lord grant him peace, enternal rest, and salvation. May God bless his family.
