Evelyn Imogene Erfurth

Evelyn ended her long bout with Alzheimer's on November 5, 2013, at the age of 89. Her passing, into the arms of our Savior, was peaceful in the familiar surrounds of her home, surrounded by family and friends. Evelyn was born and raised on a farm in Lawton OK and was the youngest of seven children. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Bertha Beasley; brothers, Kenneth, Marshal, Lovell and Lloyd Beasley; and sisters, Clyde Harned and Hazel Lakin. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, Robert Erfurth; son, Richard "Rusty" Fennell; daughter-in-law, Deidre Anne Barbera and sister, Helen Kilpatric. Evelyn was a wonderful cook, home maker and wife, as well as a hard worker. She retired from a thirty year career in government service. During that career, she was the private secretary to four Generals who served at Brook Army Medical Center. All who knew her seemed to love her as she had a great personality with a loving and caring heart. She never really knew how much talent she had for making friendships, being a very fashionable dresser, a great companion, and a person who was always ready to help. As a person of great religious faith, she worshiped at Colonial Hills Methodist Church in San Antonio. Her Church Family has been very supportive over the six years of her illness. She is grateful for their love and care. Evelyn and Robert celebrated their 49th anniversary on September 19, 2013. When they married, Evelyn wondered if they would last fifty years together. She knows they came pretty close.
