George Fischer Obituary

September 23, 1928 - November 11, 2014
George Hans Fischer, of Lometa, Texas, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Nov.11, 2014.

George was born to Fred and Bessie Fischer on Sept .23, 1928 in Austin, Texas. He graduated
in 1946 from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, Texas. George married Harriet Grimm of
San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 1, 1949. He earned a B.S. from A&I in Kingsville, Texas. He also
earned his M.E. from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. George then went on to graduate from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa and was ordained a Lutheran Pastor.

He served as a Chaplain in the army for many years, a Pastor for Faith Lutheran Church in
Austin, Texas, and also St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City, Texas.

George was preceded in death by his parents Fred Fischer and Bessie Fischer, and his
two brothers, Freddie and Harold Fischer.

George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Harriet Fischer of Lometa, Texas. His children,
Rebecca Gifford and Paul Fischer. His grandchildren, Rachael Green, Rebecca Littleton, and Travis Littleton. His great-grandchildren, Trenton Green, Tim Felder, and Athena and Alexis
Littleton. His
great-great-grandchildren, Naomi and Lydia Felder.

George is dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Lampasas, Texas at 11a.m. on Saturday Nov. 22, 2014.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to;
