Dorothy Danielson Obituary

June 15, 1922 - November 19, 2014
Dorothy Elizabeth (Sargent) Danielson, born on June 15, 1922 and raised in Revere, Massachusetts, went to be with the Lord November 19, 2014. She and her husband, Robert, moved to San Antonio in the late 1940s. Dorothy worked as a photo retoucher at Fred Harding's Studio, as an artist, and as a musician while raising five children. Bob and Dot were an inspiration through their faith in God, their ministry through music, and were a beacon of light and love to all they met. Dot was a San Antonio fixture having played the organ for church services for over 30 years and for over 3,200 weddings at the historic Little Church of La Villita. At the young age of 92, Dot was still an active and vibrant lady, involved in Bible studies, playing the organ for church and weddings, working out at Curves three times a week, and continuing to beat her children and loved ones at a good game of scrabble.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her son, Bobby. She is survived by her children, Judy, Alan (Betty), Byron (Susan), and Tracy (Donna). She was blessed with ten grandchildren, Tina, Lisa, Dawn (Tony), Amy, Trinity (Kelly), Katie, Trevor (Paige), Heather, Luke, and Emily, and four great-grandchildren, Jonah, Braxton, Tyler, and Aiden.
Donations can be made in Dot's name to The Little Church of La Villita. The Memorial Service will be held at CT Church 14335 O'Connor Rd. San Antonio, TX 78247 on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception. In honor of Dot and the bright, happy person she was, the family requests guests to wear colorful clothes. Please bring your favorite photo of her or one that reminds you of her to be included in a collage that will be donated to The Little Church of La Villita.

Dot was our joy lady. I always told her I wanted to be like her when I grew up. She blessed countless lives and will be missed. Helen Miller, Aglow

Alan and the Danielson family, so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I remember her fondly from church back in the late l950s and early 60s. I never saw her without a smile. She was a wonderful lady and will truly be missed by many.
