Jack Danielson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Minnesota (First Memorial Funeral Chapel) - Duluth on Jan. 20, 2026.
Jack Daniel Danielson, 72 of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully at Aspirus St. Lukes surrounded by his loved ones on January 15th 2026 after a yearlong battle with bladder cancer.

Jack was born in Duluth on September 4th, 1953, to Erne and Clarice "Crick" Danielson. Jack served as a boiler technician second class in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1972-1976 on the USS Mount Hood. He met the love of his life Joy Davis in 1976; they were married in 1977 and had their daughter Addy in 1979. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, almost all in building maintenance. Jack could fix or build anything and spent a great amount of time in his garage and wood shop. He loved anything with a motor and has always had a large collection of tractors, snowmobiles, cars, trucks, motorcycles, and rat rods. He loved to give away things he made, and many lucky friends and family have pieces of his metal art made from scrap and old car parts.

Jack is preceded in death by parents Erne and Crick Danielson, sister Jane Danielson-Carr, and niece Clarice Petersen. He is survived by wife Joy, daughter Addy (Jason) Danielson-Sather, special friend Rita, sister Joan (Bob) Anderson, brothers Jeff (Cathy) Danielson, Joey (Denise) Danielson, and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life at the Duluth Cremation Society of Minnesota; 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN Thursday, February 5th from 1pm-3pm with military honors at 3pm. Private inurnment at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Duluth at a later date.
