Maureen Strom Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Minnesota (First Memorial Funeral Chapel) - Duluth on Jan. 26, 2026.
Maureen Lynne (Duff) Strom of Duluth, MN passed away on January 20, 2026 at the age of 83.

Preceded in death by her parents Macklyn and Florence Duff and sister Janet. Survived by those she loved dearly, husband of nearly 61 years, William Strom; children Rebecca (Darryl) Havlicek, Corey (Ellen) Strom; beloved grandchildren Nicholas and Ryan Havlicek; she also leaves behind cherished siblings Michael (Pat) Duff, Patricia (Brian) Norris, Debra (Tom) Livingston; along with wonderful nieces and nephews.

Maureen was a proud graduate of Duluth Denfeld High School and lifelong Duluth resident. She retired in 2003 from the Proctor School District where she served as the Junior High Secretary. She was dedicated to her work and staff with whom she shared many cherished friendships. She loved to laugh out loud when reading comics, watching sitcoms or listening to others' stories. She enjoyed lifelong friendships from her childhood West Duluth neighborhood, the Red Hats, the Lunch Bunch, Bunco gals, Perkins morning staff and Forbes UMC.

The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice (Leslie, Rebecca, Savanna) for their genuine and compassionate care of our mother and our family; also the dedicated staff of Elysian Memory Care of Duluth (Brittany, Brianna, Jess, JoJo) who joyfully cared for, engaged with and laughed alongside Maureen.

Arrangements by Cremation Society of Duluth, 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN; Wednesday, Feb 4th; Visitation 11:00 am; Funeral service begins at Noon. Coffee and sweet treats to follow. Our beloved mom brought a warm smile, a sparkle in her eye and a truly selfless love that is deeply missed.
