Celestina G. Baez, 81, went to be with her Lord on May 19, 2021.
A matriarch with an unshakeable Catholic faith, she was wise and resilient to the end, always trusting in God's will and teaching others to do the same.
A lifelong San Antonian, she graduated from Lanier High School, where she was head cheerleader, and later attended St. Philip's College. She worked in the freight brokerage business for over 40 years, and founded Market Dispatch Services, Inc., a family business which she ran until her retirement.
Graceful, kind, humble, hardworking, and generous, she was a role model to her four daughters. She devoted her whole life to her family, making countless sacrifices for them over the years. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She had a big smile and a huge heart, and her grandchildren would tell you she gave the best hugs. She loved trips to Las Vegas, going to the beauty shop, and watching telenovelas. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elodia and Aurelio Garza, brothers Enrique, Aurelio and Mario Garza, sister Guadalupe Puente, daughters Maria Leticia and Angela Baez, son in law Henry Guerra Sr., grandson Pablo Guerra Jr., and longtime companion Adan Dominguez. She is survived by daughters Celinda Baez Guerra and Lynda Baez Guerra, son in law Pablo Guerra, grandchildren Henry, Robert and Daniel Guerra, and Celestina Hernandez, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and god-children.
