CHARLOTTE SCHULTZ Obituary

SCHULTZ, CHARLOTTE JOY May 3, 1920 to February 3, 2013 After a long life full of love, Charlotte passed away at home in Point Loma where she lived for eighty years. She was born in Ashton, Idaho, to Lottie and Morris Fried, the youngest of three daughters. The family moved to Loma Portal after her father visited and reported to the family he had found "heaven on earth". A graduate of Point Loma High, Charlotte received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from San Diego State where she met the love of her life, Sol. Her beautiful smile and winning personality made her irresistible and they married in 1941. Charlotte taught elementary school for a brief time before taking on the full-time job of supporting Sol's entrepreneurial endeavors and becoming a mother to two daughters. She had a lifelong interest in politics that she shared with her father. Always an optimist, family, health, and happiness were of greatest importance to her. She was the "family physician" researching medical information long before the internet. Her charitable support extended to many organizations including: Hadassah, United Jewish Federation, and Headstart. Her creative ability was evident in amazing knitting, beading, and tailoring projects which she generously gifted. Happy, sweet, thoughtful, kind, smart, and generous, she leaves valuable lessons to live by. Her loving memory will live on with her family: Judy and Ed Applbaum, Suzi and Chuck Gold; her grandchildren, Marc and Derek (Helen) Applbaum, Josh (Katherine) and Lindsay Gold; and her great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jackson, and Lucy. The family would like to thank Betty Almanza and Love at Home for their love and caregiving. Donations to your charity of choice or Alzheimer's are appreciated.
