Daphne Hoskins Obituary

HOSKINS, DAPHNE JEAN Services for Daphne Jean Hoskins are planned at Calvary Chapel of Escondido, Friday, November 1, 2002 at 11 a.m. Cremation is planned with Alhiser-Comer Mortuary of Escondido. Mrs. Hoskins died peacefully in her sleep at home, the evening of Saturday, October 26, 2002, and is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born in Casper, Wyoming, March 25, 1921 and grew up in Denver, Colorado, graduating from the University of Denver. She married Whitworth Warren Hoskins of San Diego in 1946, and resided in Pacific Beach for over 50 years. She moved to Escondido in 2000 to be closer to family. She raised two children, and was very active in Square Dancing, Clogging, and the Theatre Organ Society over the years. She worked for several employers locally, including Project Concern, a medical relief organization, and for 25 years on North Island supporting the U.S. Navy Deep Submergence Rescue Unit here in San Diego. She was a loving mother and very involved with and supportive of her children and their families over the years, and will be deeply missed by them. She is survived by her son Timothy A. Hoskins and wife Sylvia of Temecula, Ca., daughter Diane J. Bruce and husband Tom of Jackson, Mo., brother Robert A. Bainter and wife Margaret, of Dallas, Ore. The family suggests contributions to Calvary Chapel Escondido, Nursing Home Ministry.
