Jerry E. Niedens January 17, 1943 - August 9, 2018 San Diego (Mira Mesa), CA Jerry Niedens, 75, passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2018, after a short battle with brain cancer. He was born January 17, 1943 at Mercy Hospital in San Diego to Victor and Ilien Niedens. Jerry graduated from Grossmont High School in 1962. He then went on to work in the trucking industry, from which he retired in 2003. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Norma; 3 sons, Jerry Jr. (Tammy), Dan (Tami), and Dennis (Julie); 1 daughter, Rechelle Davis (Bret); 10 grandchildren, Brandon, Rick, Alyssa (James), Kaitlyn (Jake), Jeremy, Morgan, Colette, Carter, Chloe, and Logan; 2 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, and Austlynn; 2 sisters, Jan Nielsen (Bill), and Peggy Morse (Chuck); 1 brother, Victor (Cindy); and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry had a lot of hobbies and interests. He was a true family man. He enjoyed his classic vehicles, fishing, gardening, and RV travel. He was a member of several car clubs here in San Diego, an active member of both the Mira Mesa Chapter of the Lions Club and the Antique Truck Society. His love of life was continuous. He was never shy about meeting new people and was loved by many. His life was cut short and he will forever be greatly missed by his family and friends. To honor Jerry, the Mira Mesa Lions Club will be sponsoring a car show at Mira Mesa High School on September 15th from 11:00AM to 3:00PM, a celebration of life.
