Arthur David Weber, 85, died peacefully in Branson, Missouri on January 30, 2021, with his wife Gale by his side. Art was born in Los Angeles on October 6, 1935, to his parents Carl and Margaret (McArthur) Weber. Art and his older sister Marilyn grew up in San Diego, where he learned to surf and freedive at Pacific Beach, and shag baseballs off the roof of old Lane Field.Art, a gifted athlete, attended La Jolla High School where he shined as a baseball player and teammate. The hard-throwing right-hander and top hitter led his team to the San Diego City League Championship in 1953. Art was humble and reluctant to talk about his legendary playing career. He was named both City League and all-Southern California C.I.F. baseball player of the year. Art was also awarded the Breitbard Athletic Foundation's star of the month, and finished runner-up to "Little Mo" Connolly as the state's top amateur athlete. Inducted into his school's baseball Hall of Fame, Art fondly remembered his baseball teammates and friends from La Jolla, including Eddie Olsen and Art Luppino among others. Upon graduation at just 17, Art signed a professional baseball contract with the New York Yankees. Art played in the Yankees' farm system for three seasons, travelling the country from Boise to Birmingham, finishing his career in Wichita Falls. Art served his country as a corporal in the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne Division, where he was a paratrooper, receiving the 82nd Airborne Division's certificate of completion. After his honorable discharge from the army, Art attended San Diego State University earning a B.S. in Business Management.Art moved to Denver with his then-wife Linda (Lofgren) Weber, where they had three sons, Doug, Dan and David. Art held manager-level positions for Martin Company, Samsonite Corporation, and The Colorado Corporation. He later became independently employed as a successful oil and gas producer, owning multiple oil-field operations near Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Art excelled at hard work. He also enjoyed life in the country and walking the land with his dog "Lucky."

Art remarried in 1992 to Gale (Tollett) Weber. They lived in Okmulgee for several years before moving to Russellville, Arkansas and later Branson, Missouri. Art was proud of his sons' accomplishments and enjoyed watching them play football, and establishing successful careers and families of their own. Art is survived by his wife, Gale Weber of Harrison, AR; his children, Douglas (Krista) Weber and grandchildren, Reed and Stella Weber of Highlands Ranch, CO; Daniel (Karen) Weber and grandchildren, Jordan, Jaycee, and Cameron Weber of Castle Pines, CO; and David (Courtney) Weber and grandchildren, Grace and Katherine Weber of Mercer Island, WA. Art is survived by his sister, Marilyn and her husband, Michael of Solana Beach, CA; and, nieces, Anne Ames of Malanda, Australia, and Alison Cronin of Dorset, England. Art is also survived by his ex-wife, Linda Weber of Centennial, CO.
