Mary Mayer Obituary

Mary Mayer passed away peacefully at home in San Luis Obispo Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008. She was born in July 1930 in Milwaukee, Wis., to George and Amarynthia Luhman.

Mary was a lover of life who touched many people with her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and compassion. For those who were blessed to know her our lives will never be the same.

She is survived by her sisters Sue (Walter) Benn and Tink Thomson; children John (Sandi), Peter (Linda), Kim (Roger), Richard (Pam), Patti (Roy), and Don (Denna); and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard E. Kerwin; and her second husband, Richard H. Mayer.

At her request a private family celebration of her life will be held.

Special thanks go to Terri and Laurie for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, people are invited to donate to Congregational Church of San Luis Obispo or Hospice Partners of the Central Coast.

Mary was known as "Grandma Mary" to us. She was our daughter, Catie's, grandma from the day we moved next door to her and "Grandpa Dick" when Catie was still less than 1 year old. Even after we moved from CA, Catie would visit Grandma Mary every summer. Our hearts know that she is home now, but we miss having her in this world. Until we meet again, Grandma Mary, we love you lots. Catie, Cara, and Bob
