Tracy Baumberger-Covell Obituary

Our loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend, Tracy Lee Covell, 49, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.  She was born to Donna and Keith Baumberger in 1964 in West Covina, Calif., one of seven children.  Love IS Tracy. She was a member of Native Daughters of the Golden West.  Her life was centered around community activities and her daughter, Tara Covell. She started Tot-Time in Cambria for moms and preschoolers and was a 4-H project leader. She was also involved in the state fair.  Every year Tara was in school, Tracy was a room mother and assisted in creative projects. She was detail oriented and her heart was involved in every aspect of her child's life.  Tracy had a great love for animals and had a wonderful laugh. She spent her time walking the beach, collecting antiques and recently learned how to rock climb and really enjoyed it.  She was an AMAZING WOMAN, and will be missed beyond words by her family and friends.  Tracy is survived by her husband, and numerous loving family members, friends and a daughter she loved dearly.  A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the Presbyterian Community Church, 2250 Yorkshire Dr. in Cambria, with a reception to follow.

Well tomorrow will be 10 years since we lost our beloved Tracy, the pain does not go away, we just learn to live with it. Tracy's entire family misses her so much as well as I do. We were able to finally obtain Tracy's ashes a few month ago, we shared her ashes with a few family members, put some of her ashes on Moonstone Beach, Tara & I were able to finally put the rest of her ashes in the columbarium where Tracy wished to be for her final resting place. We all know that Tracy is with us all. My Tracy, love her so much ! 2024 Shannon Aikins

Friends for Life !!!!

Shannon Aikins

February 16, 2015

This will be the last post I will make to my beautiful friend in her obituary book, I want to share with everyone what my son Peter wrote for Tracy & I and our many years together as truly best friends and soul mates for life.

Peter wrote The friendship you two had is one some people never get to experience, it was something to cherish and to remember and love. I know that it hurts, I hurt too but what helps me get through it is remembering all the joy I was able to share with Tracy and not thinking about the tragic ending to her life. Even on the darkest days, the worst days, the sun will come out eventually. So we must hold on and must persevere. Sometimes it's the most horrible things in our life that make the great things great.

Thank you for letting me share this with all

Tracy, you are in my everyday thoughts and prayers, miss you so much! Dam it Tracy!!!!

I knew Tracy through 4-H and Native Daughters. Tracy was the Arts and Crafts leader for the local 4-H club. I have wonderful memories of going to her home with my children and making bird houses and stepping stones. She was always very kind and she always made everyone feel welcome. Also, she had the ability to always choose fun projects and activities for the kids to do.
I remember how hard she worked at the Native Daughter's convention held in San Luis Obispo three years ago. She was the "official photographer" for the event and she did a great job.
The most important thing that I will remember about Tracy is the devotion that she had for her family. She was very involved in family activities. Being a parent was probably her greatest joy in her life. She was so very proud of her daughter. She loved her family very, very much.
I do believe that there is a new angel in heaven and that her name is Tracy. It is my hope that the wonderful memories that Tracy's family and friends have of their life with Tracy, will give them comfort now and forever.

Our Beloved Tracy...what heartfelt and caring post everyone has expressed to Tracy & her family and friends.
We all love her so and I know many of us are having much difficulties with her absence in our here and now...please remember though, Tracy is always with us. As someone said " she is not earthside, she is at peace walking with our Lord, and watching over us."
Another said "Fly like the wind Tracy".
I know we will all honor her with, as another said; "kind acts, sweet acts & carring acts will remind us all of Tracy, and that will keep her memory alive in each of us."
How beautiful, amazing, caring, & loving she is...Tracy was taken from us much to soon & for that I know our Lord has her safe and at peace...
May we always love Tracy ,and she will never be forgotten...
Tracy's family and daughter meant everything to her, I wish comfort and peace to your broken hearts.
To my dearest friend and soulmate , my Love to you forever, I will see you again Tracy, miss you so very much...
Much love to Tracy and the family....

Always thinking of you. I wish we had more time. The short time I had known you, I felt truly blessed. I will never forget seeing you and Tara dancing and smiling at the Cayucos/Cambria MS dance. I am so glad I was able to go as a chaperone and visualize this wonderful sight. Your family and loved ones will always be in my thoughts. Miss you.

Dear One. May the angels light your way home. May your precious soul enjoy eternal peace. May your darling family be graced with healing and comfort. I will always remember how gracious you were and abundantly helpful during our wedding weekend at your ranch. How beautiful the photos you took of our special day. You will always be entwined in these memories. My heart aches to learn that you are not with us Earthside. With much love and in God, whose love and peace passes all understanding.

Tracy's sweet, kind, caring and loving nature was so pure that it gave us the opportunity to realize that we too are sweet, kind, caring and loving. Tracy will live on through us each time we are sweet, each time we are kind, each time we are caring and each time we are loving.

Tracy, an amazing person that I will miss more than words can express. Your energy, your smile, and your laughter were contagious. We weren't just sister-in-laws, we were friends. I am sad my friend is gone. I am sad that you won't be here to see your smart and beautiful daughter continue to grow into adulthood. I am sad that Brooke will not have her aunt Tracy around. I am sad we won't be growing old together and hearing you say “you know what” and me saying “whaaaaaaat”. Whenever I hear anyone say that statement, an instant smile appears on my face as I think of you each time and will continue to do so. Even typing this, I can't help but smile thinking of you saying “you know whaaat”. Love you always.

most of all I'm glad that we were friends and the time we shared together I miss you and love you, memories I can never forget, you will always be in my heart forever, May God bless your family in this time of sorrow.

Tracy was an angel on earth and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Tracy and her family took care of my son , Dan, when I was in a coma from Asthma and I woke up in the hospital to the comfort knowing he was safe at their home. This was the kindest most generous thing anyone has ever done for us. I pray that our Lord God graces her family with people to hold them up as they did for us. Now God has another precious angel in Heaven. We will always remember what a blessing Tracy was in our lives and Thank God for her.

Our thoughts & prayers are with you....May God bring you some comfort

Tracy Covell was my Step Mom. When she met me and my sister, the first thing she did was take us fishing. She was the kind of person that always made sure there was something to do. She planned birthdays, she planned trips, made sure there were arts and crafts around the house, and she remembered things like the American Girl doll I talked about for a year straight come Christmas. She took us to the theater, like actual stage plays, every year at Christmas. My family was constantly at horse shows that usually fell on my birthdays and Tracy took the time to decorate the barn in little horse lights and make sure I had a party. It was Tracy that got me Spice Girls tickets when they came to San Diego. And it was Tracy that was the reason I became a big sister, something I wished for when I was a kid. Tracy is proof that you don't have to be blood to be family. For whatever reason, Tracy chose ours and we're lucky we had her.

Tracy was a member of El Pinal Parlor #163 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West. She will be remembered by all her sisters of El Pinal as a warm gracious lady who was always full of creative ideas and prepared to help whether it was hard labor cleaning up our town or putting on a formal reception for visiting dignitaries. Tracy was the official photographer at the Grand Parlor Annual Meeting 2011 of NDGW in San Luis Obispo. We will hold Tracy in our hearts forever.

Heritage day at the Covell Ranch

Heather Vallier

January 18, 2014

Tracy gave so much to this world; so much love and kindness to her family, friends, and to her many pets, as well as the Cambria community. Tracy was here to make the world a more loving and happy place and was tireless in her efforts to do so to the amazement of those around her. From hosting Heritage day at her ranch to donating countless hours of her time and money to the local schools, to taking over the Cambria Co-op and continuing that as Tot-time when no one else would or could. She had a beautiful heart, a loving spirit and had a place in her heart and life for her pets and "her people" which included us all, but especially her beloved daughter Tara. I have never known anyone with more energy and time for people and pets in need, and she would do anything for them. We teased her about having "Tracy's zoo" with all her rescued animals from giant tortoises to birds to rescued animals of any kind from anyone who could not any longer care for them. She was a wonderful loving mother and friend, and nothing was to much for her to do for them. Sweet, smart, beautiful, genuine, and very funny . . . she had a way of making everyone feel special, important, and valuable. She will be forever in our hearts.
