Patricia Tremblay

PATRICIA TREMBLAY Patricia Tremblay, of Santa Fe, died at her home at Kingston Residence, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the age of 88, of age-related causes. Patricia was born October, 31, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Joseph Hedberg and Helen Slabey Hedberg. She attended Augustana College, Drake University and The Chicago Art Institute. Patricia had four sons with her first husband, and is survived by three of them: David Elwell (Honoria), Joseph Elwell and Peter Elwell (Rebecca). Her son, Robert Elwell, died in an accident at the age of 33. She is also survived by her brother, Douglas Hedberg (Mary); her nephews, Robert Hedberg, Thomas Hedberg (Carol) and Willliam Hedberg (Mary); nieces, Martha Hedberg-Latta ( Mark), Sue Diaz (Doug); 3 grandchildren and her friend of long-standing, Margo Taylor. Patricia married the composer, George Tremblay in 1969, and they lived in California until his death. She moved to Santa Fe in 1988. Throughout her life, Patricia was involved with art, first as a fashion illustrator, then as a fine artist working in many media. She said "I try to paint the spirit of a subject, whether it be a landscape, a person, a memory or an idea. The mystery of the ancient often underlies what I do." The family wishes to thank the Staff at Kingston for their loving care and assistance. According to her wishes, Patricia has been cremated and no public memorial is planned. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice in Patricia's honor.
