Reynalda Guerra
February 7, 1933 - February 25, 2023
Reynalda Guerra, 90, of Santa Maria, Ca. Passed away peacefully on February 25, 2023 surrounded by her family. Reynalda was born in Encarnacion de Diaz Jalisco Mexico on February 7, 1933 to Tila De Santos and Guadalupe Polina. At a young age she was taught to work hard and care for her family and friends. Her parents were known for that type of individuals with strong work ethic and devotion. So naturally when she met a person that was as devoted to their family and friends and she was, she was drawn to them. She met a young man named Miguel Guerra De Santos from the same hometown with those same values as she had. As they often told the story, they made an instant connection that eventually lead to a beautiful matrimony on August 12th of 1954 at 6:00 in the morning. It was not long before they began and built a family of their own and they too made family and friends a priority.
Home is where the heart is; in 1972 Reynalda moved to Santa Maria California with the entire family where husband Miguel worked. Here, they eventually grew their family to four girls and six boys. It was her pride and joy to have such a large family. She welcomed each of them with loving arms.
Although Reynalda did not have a job outside the home, she had the most important title of all, mother to her children. Responsibilities included housekeeping, laundry and providing delicious meals that everyone would ask for a second helping. From a young age she loved to sew, and she used that talent to make and embroider baseball uniforms for the kids. She was a nurse to injured or ailing children, having a remedy for every one of life's bumps and mishaps. With the expression of her face, you could see that she would bare the pain herself away from you if she could.
Her loving smile was genuine, caring, and welcoming to family and friends. Reynalda was not a woman of many words, but her actions and examples spoke volumes. The lessons that she taught will live on for generations through the people that she touched. Her faith in God was her strength, the bond that held everyone together. That ability to bring people together was her joy and made for wonderful memories.
Reynalda loved spending time with her family and friends. She made it a priority to make sure everyone was comfortable and well fed. She loved to cook and was great at it, and everyone knew this, so there was never an empty house, specially during meals and celebrations. She was so proud of her family and beyond proud to have created such a big family that extended beyond blood relatives. Always so proud to let people know she had ten children! She is survived by daughter Martha Bendaw(Charles). Daughter Lila Velazquez(Francisco), Son Miguel Guerra(Gaby), Son Luis Guerra(Melissa), Son Guillermo Guerra, Daughter Mary Munoz(Randy), Son Raymond Guerra(Sandy), Son Hector Guerra(Marcie), Daughter Nadia Guerra, and numerous grandkids and great grandkids.
Reynalda is proceeded in death by her son Jose Guerra and by her husband Miguel Guerra De Santos.
