Sergio Limon Zepeda

Sergio Zepeda, 53 of Santa Maria passed away April 26, 2023 at home surrounded by his immediate family. Sergio was born and raised in Santa Maria, California. He attended local schools and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1987.

While growing up he enjoyed playing baseball and was part of the 13 year old Santa Maria team that took runner up in the Babe Ruth World Series. Sergio made strong friendships while on this team that remained an important part of his life to this day. While attending St. Joseph High School he was also a part of the CIF championship team. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, he worked numerous jobs including Diablo Canyon Power Plant and Easter Rents before settling on a career as a Correctional Officer at Lompoc Penitentiary until his retirement in December 2021. Sergio met the love of his life, Dena, Super Bowl Sunday 1992. After 7 years of courtship, they married and raised 3 beautiful children.

Throughout his life Sergio had many hobbies. Sergio was a big kid at heart and enjoyed his toys. These included ATV's, boats, project cars, and camper trailers. You could always find him searching through Amazon or the As Seen on TV store looking for the latest gadgets. Whether Sergio was on a cruise, camping or going to a Dodger game or amusement park he always enjoyed spending time with his family. Above all, Sergio's greatest achievement in life was being the best dad and becoming a grandpa.

Sergio is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dena (Dugger) Zepeda. He is also survived by his daughter Alexandria Pompa, her husband Roger and grandchildren RJ & Mateo; his oldest son Anthony Zepeda, Ciera Orca and their soon to be born son Mason; and youngest son Nicholas Zepeda. He is also survived by his Parents Jose Blas and Maria Zepeda (Mommy and Poppy); oldest brother and sister-in-law Alfonso & Yolanda Zepeda and their children, Monique Carrillo (Chris) and their daughter Micaela, Daniel Zepeda (Jaquelin) and Thomas Zepeda; and youngest brother Ralph Zepeda. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sergio is preceded in death by his Grandparents Rafael & Francisca Zepeda and Leonardo & Anselma Limon.

Rosary will be recited at 5:30pm with visitation to follow until 7:00pm Thursday, May 4, 2023 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday, May 5, 2023 also at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Santa Maria Cemetery.
