Along with his two wives, he was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Andrew David Gnann, Sr. and Ava Shields Gnann, his sister Mary Jane Boykin, and his brothers Andrew David Gnann, Jr. and Dr. William Shields Gnann.

Surviving are his children, and his grandchildren Ryan Elliott Gnann, James Hamrick Gnann, III (Camille), Andrew David Gnann, II, Matthew Hunter Gnann and Thomas Christopher Huncke, and several nieces and nephews.

A veteran of the US Air Force, he served during the Korean War ultimately achieving the rank of technical sergeant in a GA Air National Guard radar unit.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to his caretaker Mrs. Arthur Mae Batisse who provided loving care to their father and support to their family for the past several years.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 16 at St. Paul's Hoffner Hall from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral services and a tea. Interment follows at Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ebenezer.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers gifts be made to St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in memory of Jim Gnann, 10 West 31st Street, Savannah, GA 31401.
