I was a close friend of Norm Schwarzkopf... we met in California. He regaled me with stories of his youth and spoke of his best friend Leroy often. They were roommates their four years at West Point class of 1956. He told me "Leroy is my brother". God bless you, General!

I just found out that MG Suddath has passed away. He was such a good man with such high standards. The highlight of my military career was serving as his Executive Administrative Assistant when he was the commander of Berlin Brigade. I think of him often. I wish I could have said goodbye. MG Suddath would always go out of his way to come visit me if he was visiting my duty station, because that is just who he was. Condolences to his family. He is truly missed.

I had the opportunity to briefly meet General Suddath on a trip to the former Soviet Union in July 1983. General Suddath was one of the friendliest, most unpretentious people I've ever met. RIP Sir!
