Eric Randall Nyberg, 44, of Deer River, MN died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at his home.

Eric was born in 1967 to Bruce and Virginia Nyberg in Robbinsdale, MN. He graduated from Avon High School in Avon, OH in 1985. Eric enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1985 served in Kuwait during Desert Storm. Following his discharge from active duty in 1993, he continued to serve in U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He was employed as a machinist at Tru-Stone in St. Cloud, MN and later moved to Deer River, MN. Eric enjoyed cooking, fishing, and most of all being with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bruce Nyberg; maternal grandfather, Carey Wong; paternal grandparents, Phil and Phyllis Nyberg; and uncles, Art Koch and Ken Wong.

Eric is survived by his wife, Christina; daughters, Victoria Nyberg of Melrose, MN, Elizabeth Nyberg of Melrose, MN, and Dana Nyberg of Deer River, MN; his mothers, Virginia (Charlie) Winters of Rice, MN and Betty Nyberg of Monticello, MN; maternal grandmother, Opal Wong of Deer River, MN; sisters, Carrie-Ann Eckert of Minneapolis, MN, Chrissy (Nate) King of Bemidji, MN, Shelly (Brett) Stenstrom of Hibbing, MN, Debbie (Jim) Richert of Clear Lake, MN, and Elissa (John) Janiak of St. Cloud, MN; brothers, Brandon (Annette) Nyberg of Cold Spring, MN, Rob Koch of St. Cloud, MN, Mike (Laurie) Koch of St. Cloud, MN, Cliff (Becky) Morgan of Becker, MN, Jim (Tammy) Morgan of Becker, MN, and Shane Morgan of Milaca, MN; aunts, Luanne Koch of Bemidji, MN and Gail (Lee) Carlson of Sparks, Nevada; and his nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, MN. Services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.

Arrangements are by Rowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Grand Rapids, MN.

I want to thank everyone for all the love & support I've received this past week. My family has been a rock. Eric was blessed to have such a large family who loved him so much. My son Brandon and my daughter Carrie were beyond amazing. All his brothers and sisters gave so much and are greatly appreciated. My grandchildren have wonderful role models in all of you.
Eric I will miss you and you will always be my hero even though you hated when I told you that
