We are so sorry to see that both Mr. and Mrs. Nolan are gone--such lovely people. We grew up across the street from the Nolans (and the Hauges) in the 1960s, and I remember Mr. Nolan driving us kids to school. He was the nicest man ever, always with a smile for us kids. My mom just passed away in August (she had still been living in that same house on 189th St.). Our parents are gone, but never forgotten--RIP.
Love, Karen Ford

He was a loving and devoted father to my dear friend, Eileen. He would bring her a latte every morning on his way. Last Saturday, in his honor, I stopped by with a latte for Eileen...He will be missed by his dear family - what a charming gentleman!

I have a very distinct memory of meeting "Danny" Nolan at the home of my aunt and uncle, Catherine and Will Brosnan, on Hill Avenue in the Bronx in the early 1950s, when I was a small child. Dan was my Uncle Willie's sister's son and I was Aunt Catherine's brother's daughter.
Dan was handsome and taller than all the Murphys and Brosnans put together, and he had just announced that he was moving to Seattle. I am quite sure that was the reason for this particular family gathering. And I clearly recall that Aunt Catherine and Uncle Willie were convinced that he was going "to the ends of the earth."
Little did I know then that, I, too, would be making this wonderful place my home.
May he rest in peace!
And may you know that his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have the sympathy, prayers, and love of Dan's extended family in and from the Bronx. Seattle, and the Kingdom of Kerry.

Mr Nolan was one of the finest men I have ever known. He was a great friend to my mother and father as well to me and my siblings. He served the community with distinction and kindness. I will miss his smiling face and the lilt of his voice.

Dan was and is a faithful friend, a man of deep faith, faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, especially those in need. The Murphy sisters in Tacoma have been the recipients of great hospitality at Joan and Dan Nolan family home for many years. We have treasured our long friendship with the Nolan family, especially Ita Nolan Murphy and Aeny Murphy, (deceased), who are our immediate loving neighbors to our brother Marty and wife Maureen in Glounakeel, Co. Cork, Eire. Eileen, Dan, Tim and John and families, I extend my prayers and sincere sympathy on the death of your dear Father, a man of deep faith, love, fidelity, integrity, warmth, and a great Irish dancer. I will always treasure your Parents, Dan and Joan, for their outreach and hospitality to the Murphy Sisters over the years. May Dan and Joan be once again united in love and continue to love and support you from their Heavenly Home. Sister Mary Pat Murphy

Our deepest sympathy to you Eileen, your brothers, Sean, Alexa, Siobhan, Brian, the rest of Dan's grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. We are so blessed to have known this kind and honorable man. What a loving legacy he has left behind. From all of the stories we have heard over the years, Poppy (as we knew him) was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
God bless you all as you grieve. May your memories of this sweet man live on and continue to be passed down through the generations.
Love to you all,
Martina Hauge

Our prayers and sympathy go out to Eileen, her brothers, and the entire Nolan Family at this time of loss. Dan Nolan, your Dad, was a distinguished gentleman, a family man, and public servant who will be remembered for generosity and friendship. May you, his children, be comforted and may your Dad enjoy eternal rest! While Fathers Day weekend is a difficult time to grieve your father, you, his children and your families already reflect the love, generosity and spirit of service which characterized your parents. You are in our thoughts at this time and we treasure the many years of friendship shared with the Nolan Family. In sympathy, Sisters Peg, Mary Pat & Nora Murphy
