Jack Ironside Obituary

Pipe Major Jack W. IRONSIDE, Jr. Born July 24, 1946, passed August 5, 2002. Survived by wife, Teresa and their two sons, John and Alex. He is also survived by daughters, Amy of Renton and April Thorson of Buhl, Idaho; brother Angus D. Ironside, SeaTac; sisters Lynn Brown, Walla Walla, and Carol Anderson, Joyce; aunt Nellie Bend, Vancouver, B.C.; and many cousins. Jack was preceded in death by his father, P/M Jack N. Ironside, Sr. and mother Marguerite (Daisy) Ironside. Jack was Pipe Major of the Seattle Scottish Boys Pipe Band, having won many piping competitions and awards in both Canada and the U.S.A. He also played in the Seattle Pipe Band, Seattle Clansmen, and Clan Stewart Pipe Band. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 17 at 11 a.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall at 728 South 225th, Des Moines, WA. Kilted attire is suggested.
