William Guppy Obituary

William David James Guppy

Born May 8, 1995, died on January 26, 2016 after several months of illness. Survived by father Paul and mother Diana; siblings Christina, Timmy and Devon; grandmother Pauline; uncles Joe (Nancy), Tim (Micheala), and Mark (Michelle); aunt Cynthia Gridley (Leander); uncle David Ott (Pam); numerous cousins and relatives. William will be remembered as kind and intelligent, with a great sense of humor. His enthusiasm for outdoor activities began as a child with annual trips to Mt. Herman Christian Camp in California, and continued with much-loved wilderness hikes with his father. At Blanchet high school, he was captain of the debate team, competing in state tournaments. At Seattle University, he enjoyed being in the honors program, studying history and philosophy. He served customers for three years at QFC. For the last two years, William lived with his grandmother on Capitol Hill, and was very helpful to her. Funeral services will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, West Seattle, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Feb 4.

Im going to miss william and his presence in my life. I loved william with all my heart but didnt show it as much. William was an amazing big brother. He always cared for me and always made me smile. He got me into a lot of fun activities that I still pursue today, call of duty, basketball, and going to ODea. He was a big impact on my life and was a good role model. It would always make me happy when he would visit the family and tell us about what he has been doing. I was devastated when I heard about William passing away. I love william still to this day, and im proud to be his little brother. I hope to see him soon up in heaven and spend the rest of my life with him. Thank you to everybody who has been sending my family prayers. I know this is a little late but, I just found this site and wanted to share my thoughts and memories.

Love you William.

We first met William when he and our son Aaron were in kindergarten and first grade together. We re-connected with the family again when the boys were in high school. Then a few years ago I again would see William at QFC in Westwood Village. I always enjoyed having him bag my groceries. He had grown up to be such an articulate, personable young man. We were stunned to hear of his death. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this incredibly difficult time.

Was an excellent co-worker when he worked produce at Westwood qfc. His witty and positive personality will be missed. Sending many positive thoughts to his family.

Dear Diana, Paul, and family:

As a long time customer at the QFC on Capitol Hill, I had the pleasure of interacting with your dear William. Standing behind the meat counter, William brought joy to customers with his helpful way and infectious smile. Such profound sadness overwhelmed me today after hearing the news of William's passing from this world. It occurred to me as I sat in my car in the parking lot of QFC that this young man was truly special and affected many, to be sure. His joy was tangible, and meaningful, even to me, a customer to whom he spoke on brief occasion. I can only begin to imagine the immeasurable gifts he gave to those privileged to truly know him during his short life on Earth.

My prayer will be that you feel William's love burning in you for all your lives, and that God's promise of peace find it's way into your hearts.

Sincerely,

Paul Huddleston, DDS
