Obert James (Jimmy, Jim) MOI A riding incident in Tubac, Arizona on April 19, 2010 resulted in Jim's accidental death. He is survived by his wife, Valerie, his heart's life partner. The loving first-born child, he will be deeply missed by his mother, Patricia, and step-father Dennis Gattke. He was a loving brother to his sisters PattyAnn, Krista, Kimberly, Angela, and to his brothers Kenneth and Kevin and all of their families. He was preceded in death by his father, Obert (Hap) Moi, Jr. Jimmy will be missed by his grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends, customers and employees. Born in Seattle on September 30, 1955, Jim was raised in the Shoreline and Bellevue areas. He lived in Seattle and East Side until he and Valerie moved to Idaho in 2001 and, having recently purchased land in Arizona for business expansion, planned on moving to that area. Prior to Jim's own inventive entries into the "retail world" his career began in the automobile industry where he remained for ten years. His longest association was with Riach Oldsmobile and Honda. He was a salesman to whom customers repeatedly returned because of his attention to their needs. Jim's many entrepreneurial successes include: Boehm's Candy (Espresso) on Ravenna Boulevard, Classic Home Furnishings in Ballard, Nana's in Wedgewood, The Cracker Box, Plane Jane and Sleep with Grace on the Sammamish Plateau, and now active, three stores (Sleep with Grace) in Eagle and Boise, Idaho. Jim also had one of the first complete outdoor espresso carts (he helped to develop the prototype). It was located at 24th Ave NW and NW 56th in Ballard. In addition to his own endeavors he was always available to help others with theirs. Jim's time with us was shortened, but our memories of that shared time will be eternal and remembered with love. A celebration of Jim's life will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Beaver Lake Lodge, Sammamish, WA. Remembrances may be made to the Children's Miracle Network (through KOMO-TV) in Jim's name. Thank you from his family. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Valerie, My mother Doreen Conner and I were so sorry to learn of Jim's death. You used to live down the street from my parents Charlie and Doreen in Seattle when you started Nana's and I remember you moved to the Sammamish Plateau. My dad Charlie and I were fellow horse people. Dad passed away in 2001 but I kept his horse until she died in 2007. My husband and I now live in Battle Ground, WA. Mom still lives there in her house in your old neighborhood. Thinking of you, Marilyn and Doreen.
