GORDON WOLFE Obituary

Gordon WOLFE Age 62, died unexpectedly in his sleep, on Friday, May 21st, 2010. He will be greatly missed by his wife Cyndi, his mother, Juanita, and his many friends. Gordon was a true renaissance man, with many interests and talents. He received his PhD in physics from the University of California, Davis in September, 1976, and taught physics at the University of Mississippi in the late 1970's before pursuing a career as a computing operations systems programmer, first in New Orleans, LA and later at The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA. While at Boeing he earned his private pilot license through the Boeing Employee Flying Club. An accomplished musician, Gordon played guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and bass. In his teens and early 20s, he was a founding member in the locally successful Sacramento folk group, 'Him, Her and Me'. Old time Appalachian, and blue grass music were a special passion. As a member of the Seattle Old Time Fiddlers Association Gordon could always be counted on to perform with other Old Time Fiddlers in nursing homes and libraries in the greater Puget Sound area. He was also an enthusiastic Scottish dancer. Gordon was a published author with numerous articles and books both in physics and computing. Most recently he had completed his first science fiction novel and was beginning the search for a publisher. He approached writing fiction with the same enthusiasm he brought to every activity. A memorial service for Gordon Wolfe will be held on June 19th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Parish Church, 609 Eighth Ave., in Seattle. Donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, The Arthritis Foundation, or the charity of your choice. Please sign the online memorial guestbook: www.bonneywatson.com
