Jerry Scheideman Obituary

Jerry SCHEIDEMAN Born in Wallace, ID. in 1932. Died Nov. 6, 2003 at the age of 71. He received his BA in art from the University of Idaho and M.F.A. from California College of Arts and Crafts in 1959. He lived in Istanbul, Turkey, 1962-1967, where he taught painting and art history at The American Academy for Girls. He worked with vitreous enamel on steel panels, exhibiting them in galleries in Seattle and Portland. The Washington State Arts Commission selected his enamels for their art in new state buildings. He taught at various schools including Taft College in California and the Highline School District. For two summers he drew and painted in Spain where he lived during the 1986-87 academic year. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean; son, Jason; daughter, Birgit McCullough; grandsons, Michael, Ben, and Jack; sister, Barbara and her family. Memorial Service, 12NN, Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 at St. Mark's Cathedral, Thomsen Chapel, 1245 10th Ave. E., Seattle, WA. Arrangements entrusted to Butterworth-Arthur A. Wright Chapel. Memorial gifts suggested to a charity of choice.
