Patricia Barton Obituary

Patricia Morgan Barton

Patricia Morgan Barton was born May 25, 1924 in Wenatchee Washington to Myrtle Peacor Morgan & Benjamin Foss Morgan of Snohomish.

She passed away on April 3, 2013 in Tucson AZ.

Raised in Monitor & Alderwood, she graduated from Edmonds High School in 1942. Pat was then off to the University of Washington to pursue a BA in Journalism.

In 1943 she became a US Army Air Forces Civilian Employee, inspecting B-17 Bombers at Boeing Airfield. Thus began a life-long love of Aviation.

While attending the UW, she joined Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, meeting her future husband on the Ballroom floor at Sigma Nu Fraternity.

She married John Francis Barton in the Seattle University District on June 26, 1947.

After raising her family in Port Townsend, then Bellevue, Pat went back to school, earning another Bachelor degree in Medical Records Administration at Seattle University in 1976. She then served as M.R. Administrator at Fairfax Hospital in Kirkland until retirement.

Pat served as Docent at the Museum of Flight, as well as the Bellevue Art Museum. Travel, jazz, genealogy & flying were her greatest passions, next to family. She spent her retirement years traveling the globe, dividing her time between homes in the Puget Sound and Arizona.

Patricia was preceded in death by husband John Francis Barton II, sister Annette Morgan DeLong (Robert L).

She is survived by sons John F Barton III of Seattle, Greg F Barton of Salkum, Scott D Barton of Everett, daughter Annette Barton of Seattle, grandson Landyn Barton of Lynnwood, & longtime partner Robert Luther of Mohawk NY.

Interment is at Evergreen-Washelli, Seattle WA. Please make any Remembrances to your favorite animal or pet charity, The Museum of Flight, or Snohomish Historical Society.

For Patricia and the Barton Family

April 20, 2013

Annette &Family,
Although today brings you the awareness of finality, your Mom is now at peace and free from all discomforts.
I'm hoping that today's gathering of her children and grandson will give all of you a special sense of closeness.
Afterwards enjoy each other's company and share your memories with each other.

She always spoke about a son who was/is a pilot (because she knew I was) - never meet her "face 2 face" but she sure was a kick to talk with on the phone.

I was saddened to read in the paper this morning of your Mother's death. She was a lovely woman and a good neighbor.
What an interesting life she had!
I was not aware of all her accomplishments and interests.
My deepest sympathy to you and your brothers.

Nana Pat was so good to Landyn.
She never missed a holiday...sending
a card for every occasion.....she would
always put something fun in each card.
Landyn will miss his Nana Pat.
My thoughts are with all of the Barton Family.

I was very sorry to learn of Patricia's passing. Pat and John were some of the first people I can remember from my early childhood in Port Townsend.

My parents, Frank and Isobel Seeley, became friends with the Barton's in the late forties. As I remember it, John delivered heating oil to our little house in Glen Cove. They stayed in contact until after my father's passing in 2000. My mother carries on.

I send my best wishes to you. I will always remember your mother as a very kind and caring person.
