Carole Bauman Obituary

Carole Lynn Bauman

Carole Lynn Bauman died on February 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Carole was born January 17, 1947 to William and Dorothy Huffman. She was born in Kansas, later moved to Minnesota where she lived most of her life, later settling in Seattle, Washington. Carole was married to her husband David for over 30 years. They raised a large blended family together, providing love, care and support to all. Carole was a talented artist, wonderful conversationalist and loyal friend. She loved travelling and enjoyed reading, camping and cooking. She was an amazing mother and especially loved being a Nana. She was a mentor to many of her students as Dean at Hopkins High School. She touched so many so deeply, with love and generosity and she made so many lives better because of it. The world is truly a better place because of the faith, beauty and laughter she brought to it. For the last 8 years she struggled with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a progressive neurological disorder. Through it all, she never complained and handled herself with absolute grace, even in the hardest times.

She is preceded in death by her brother William Huffman (wife Yun). She is survived by her devoted husband David A. Bauman, her son Jim, her daughter Sarah (husband Joe, daughters Hannah, Emma and Chloe), Stepdaughter Jenny (husband Alex, sons David, Douglas, Nicholas and Jack), Stepson Mike, Stepson Steve (wife Heather, daughter Haley and son Robert), Stepson Gordon (wife Ruth, son Ben, daughters Heidi and Valentina), Stepdaughter Megan (husband Brian, sons Eric, Darrin and Kyle), Stepson Adam (wife Amy, son Collin and daughter Carli).

The funeral will be held at Holy Rosary Church in West Seattle on Thursday, March 13 at 10:30am.

Carole, we miss you all the time and I hope that our prayers are reaching you. Please pray for us.
If you could see your girls now - just amazing - you should be very proud Nana. Thank you for all of your help and thank you for everything you gave in those early years. It all paid off. Hard to believe its been 10 years and we all miss you very much.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, So he put His arms around you, And whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer, And saw you fade away, Although we loved you dearly, We could not ask you to stay, A Golden Heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
