Susan Olsen Obituary

Susan Pearl Olsen

Susan Pearl (Norman) Olsen passed peacefully at home on April 11, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born on May 25, 1949 in Spokane, WA and was the youngest child of Elwyn and Laura Mae Butler who preceded her in death as well as her beloved brother Steven Butler. Sister to Pat Ellison of Portland, OR and Merle Ray (Don) of Salt Lake City and sister-in-law Carol Butler of Seattle.

Susan was an amazing mother to her 4 children, Andrea (Tony) Martineau, Bertrand (Jenni) Norman, Scott (Veronica) Norman and Tony (Amanda) Olsen. Proud grandma to Soren Norman and Christian and Jeremiah Olsen. Husband of 35 years, Carl Olsen, was a devoted caregiver to her until the end of her battle with breast cancer. Susan is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and by the many children whose lives she touched as a longtime home daycare operator in Ballard. The family wishes to thank Drs. Milder and Tolman of the Swedish Cancer Institute and the many wonderful nurses there for the care and compassion they showed to our mother and wife. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Swedish Cancer Institute at www.swedishfoundation.org.
