Paul Mader Obituary

Paul S. Mader

August 26, 1953 - April 2, 2017

Paul passed away at his home in Renton, WA. He was 63 years of age. A native of Orlando, Florida, he honorably served his country in the Army. He then embarked on a distinguished 35 year career as an air traffic controller and manager with the FAA where he was affectionately known as "Boomer". He was a kind hearted man with a very strong affinity for helping others. He dedicated much of his personal time and energy caring for children with life threatening illnesses through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He will be fondly remembered for his great generosity, love of nature and his quest for fun. His was the place to be in the neighborhood for great Halloween displays and beautiful 4th of July celebrations.

He is survived by his former wife Janet Winter, children Evan Vincent Mader, Celeste Hannah Mader, brother Tom Mader, sister-in-law Chris Mader and nieces Jen Mader and Cathy Haskins.

An honorable military service will take place on Tuesday, May 16th at 2:00 PM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, WA. It will be immediately followed by a reception at Covington City Hall until 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Alaska and Washington chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
