Henry Cusick Obituary

Henry Russell Cusick, 88, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born on February 10, 1922, at Houstonia, Missouri, a son of James Edward and Della Jane Gregory Cusick.

On October 4, 1946, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Margaret Leellen Williams, who survives of the home.

He was a charter member of the Emmet Avenue Baptist Church. He was a Sheet Metal Worker at Blue Young Sheet Metal, Sedalia and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union #2. He served his country honorably during World War II in the Army Air Force. He was awarded the Bronze Star for the Aleutian Island Campaign, where he served on the Adak and Attu Islands.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Vicki Lynn Wilson and her husband Greg, and Vonna Hogan and her husband Dale; two sons, Russell "Buddy" Cusick and his fiance, Carol Jones, all of Sedalia, and Ronnie Cusick, of Trenton, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister, Lucy Mae Slapper; his brother, James Edward Cusick; and daughter-in-law, Andrea "Andi" Jane Cusick.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010, at the Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia, with graveside services and burial to follow at Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery with Rev. John Barrett officiating.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Emmet Avenue Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 1001 S. Limit, Sedalia.

Dear Margret and family, as I think about Russell my thoughts go to memories of growing up at Emmett Avenue he played such an important role as part of my Christian Family. There are just people you look up to and admire and remember. And Russell will always be one of those people. I love you all.
