I am saddened to learn of Brad's passing. Brad and I met over 30 years ago through MITES. We both taught woods, served as Regional Officers and worked together on the Executive Board of MITES for several years. Brad was a true professional who had a passion for teaching. Brad helped his students become successful regardless of their individual abilities. Whenever I see Red Oak cabinets with brass hardware, I always think of Brad!
I always enjoyed "talking shop" with Brad and working with him over the years on various MITES activities/business. I always appreciated his hard work ethic and outstanding quality of his students work. It was an honor to work with Brad on the Executive Board of MITES. Brad worked very hard to bring about positive outcomes/change for our students, profession and MITES.
Sincerely,
Don Zielke

Mr. Garrison made the world a better place. He gave practical skills by teaching the art and craft of fine woodworking, but he had a subtle way of showing us students how to be good people along the way, too. His dedication was felt and the evening sessions in the wood shop when we could come in and work to get our projects done on time were my favorite part of high school. And after those 500 push-ups, I have never again risked injury by walking behind the table saw while someone else was using! I have fond memories of Mr. Garrison and I always will. My condolences to all his family and my thanks for the mark he left on this world.

Brad was a great teacher, colleague, and friend. Always willing to help, mentor, or commiserate, his presence will be missed by many. His legacy of high standards and caring will continue on, however, for generations. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I graduated high school in 2002 and of all the teachers I've had in my life Mr. Garrison influenced me the most and in the best way. I was extremely saddened to hear of his passing. He was very stern but also was filled with compassion and care for his work and his students. My prayers and condolences go out to his family. I'm very sorry for your loss, he was a great man

Even as kids when we got together at Grandma Grace's house, Brad and I talked of making things from wood. Building was always the topic of discussion at reunions. He will be missed.

I met Brad through our mutual association with MITES. I served on the board with him and always admired the caftsmanship that he taught to his students. I will miss his dry humor it was always above par. Knowing him made me a better teacher. Thanks Brad.

My family considered Brad a friend for over 35 years, He was a fellow teacher so I was able to hear 100's of students who considered him their favorite teacher. He also rebuild almost every room in my house. Nobody was better than Brad. Becky and I will always think of him as a friend and offer our condolences to his family.

Mr. Garrison's class offered an oasis that was the drama of high school for students..he held his students to the same high standard that he held to himself..I don't know what I would have done without his guidance, leadership and empathy as a young sophomore student at IHS..he truly embodied all the traits I tried to emulate in my life..thank you to his wife and kids for allowing those of us in the community to "borrow" Brad as a father figure and mentor during our trying times in high school..

I first met Brad in 2008. I enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor and candid views. Over the years I didn't see him often, but when I did we always had a good laugh or two. I will miss him. Rest in peace my friend.
