Steven Conrad Obituary

Steven Lynn Conrad
Dec. 13, 1944 – Aug. 31, 2021

Steven Lynn Conrad, 76, of Gore, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, in Tulsa. Steve was born in Portis, Kan., on Dec. 13, 1944, the son of Quincy and Agnes (Rhodes) Conrad.
Steve graduated from Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He then had a career with Texaco for 10 years. It is there that he met his wife of almost 48 years, Dixie (Sheffield) Conrad. Steve and Dixie then moved back to the Gore and Webbers Falls area to open an Otasco hardware store with Janis (Sheffield) and Don Carter and to farm. Steve and Dixie ran the Otasco store, which eventually became Warner True Value, for over 20 years. Steve and Dixie continued to farm in the Webbers Falls area.
Steve was passionate and driven in everything he did. Whether farming, restoring his classic car collection, or tending to his flower garden, he did everything with a good-natured and caring heart. He loved simple things like sweet corn and watermelon grown by his fellow farmers, and thought those things tasted especially good when borrowed from their fields. But his favorite activity of all was spending time with his family where he was a loving and beloved husband, father and grandpa. His hard work and dedication was an inspiration to all. Steve was also a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Webbers Falls where he taught Sunday School to children and sang harmony in the choir for over 40 years. He showed his love for God through how he treated others with kindness to all and a willingness to offer a lending hand.
Steve is survived by his wife, Dixie; children, Celeste and David Clough and their children, Jordan and Kensley, Travis and Vilma Conrad and their children, Rylee, Monica, Ricardo and Javier, Josh Conrad and Mary Tarver and his child, Olive, and Emily and Kristian Cozyris and their children, Amalia and Claire. He is also survived by his siblings Sharon and Stan Standridge, Dale and Nora Conrad, Richard and Debbie Conrad and Dixie and David Hesterman. Steve also has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents Agnes and Quincy Conrad.
