Marie Antoinette Gamma, 93 passed away on August 15, 2015 after a brief illness. Marie was born July 5, 1922 in San Jose, California, the first of two children, to Swiss Immigrants Frank and Katharine Gamma. She spent the first five years of her life on the family ranch. After the death of her mother she moved in with her aunt and family in San Francisco. They moved back to the ranch when Marie was in her late teens. For the majority of her life Marie resided with her beloved "MeMe" Marie H. Hummel who raised her like a daughter and treated her like a friend in their home on Vienna Street in San Francisco.Most of Marie's career was spent in sales and she retired from Herger Meister of San Francisco.
Marie was a member of the Church of the Epiphany, and a strong supporter of Sacred Heart.
Marie loved traveling and did so every chance she could. But, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Friends may visit Monday, August 24th after 5:00 PM and are invited to attend the Rosary Vigil Service Monday 7:00 PM at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake, Ave., Daly City. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 25th, 11:00 AM at the Church of the Epiphany, 827 Vienna Street, San Francisco. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Sacred Heart School scholarship fund, Driscoll Senior Center, or a charity of your choice.
