Joan Bugler

Joan Ann Bugler Mar. 13, 1940 - Jan. 22, 2012 Joan passed away peacefully at home in Burlingame, California. She lived a full and rich life creating happy memories, which she shared with her family and friends. Joan was born and raised in San Francisco's North Beach in the family flat shared by her parents Edmund and Doris, and brother Dennis Ruggiero; her aunt and uncle Rose and Leroy Lorenzetti and grandparents Charles and Edith Lorenzetti. Joan graduated from Notre Dame des Victoires High School and San Francisco State University with a Bachelors Degree in Science and a Teaching Credential. She married the love of her life, Bill Bugler, in 1960 and moved to Burlingame where they raised their family. She was a substitute teacher for the San Mateo County School District and taught English as a Second Language for more than two decades. She is admired and appreciated by the many students she touched. An avid tennis player, she was a member of the Millbrae Tennis Club and the San Mateo Elks Tennis Team. She also enjoyed playing golf and traveling with her husband and friends to Mexico, South America, Europe and Asia. Beloved Wife of the late William (Bill) Bugler, Joan is survived by her adoring brother, Dennis Ruggiero; her loving children Dawn (Ron) Craven, Glenn (Shelley) Bugler, Susan (John) Hoffert, Jill (Dennis) Bower; her grandchildren, Danielle, Jeremy, Kelli, Kalysta, Nicole, Kevin, Jamie and Sarah and many nieces and nephews. Joan will be missed by her many neighbors, friends and family. A Memorial Service will be held 1 pm, Friday January 27 at Our Lady of Angels Church, 1721 Hillside Dr., Burlingame.
