Susan Renae Harvey

March 10, 1954 - December 9, 2017

Susie, beloved wife, mother, teacher, coach, mentor, and friend, passed away unexpectedly from a Pulmonary Embolism. She was born in Napa and grew up in San Mateo. Susie graduated from Aragon High School, and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Physical Education from San Jose State University.

She retired from teaching Health and Physical Education for over 30 years in the Hillsborough School District. Susie also coached Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Track. Her love of teaching children continued after retirement, as she was a substitute teacher and a nature education docent at Filoli.

Susie loved to garden at home, and she was a volunteer gardener at Filoli and Half Moon Bay State Beach native plant nursery. Additional hobbies included reading, decorating, cooking, watching sports, traveling, and taking the family dog Misty for walks.

She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Shirley Schoeppner. She is survived by her husband Gregg, son Sean, daughter Jessica, sister Nancy, many loving relatives, and close friends. We will deeply miss Susie and will never forget what a kind and considerate person she was.
