My dad, Kendall Hobbs, was a fellow New Englander good friend of Frank and Mary Solomon's for many years. He admired the sharp minds they both possessed, and supported Frank in his run for judge many years ago. I remember my dad saying, "Solomon for judge! How could he lose?" Well, lose he did, and I remember "Solomon for Judge" lawn signs in our garage for many years afterwards.
For a number of years, Mary served as my dad's part-time legal secretary. He appreciated her careful stewardship of resources in the office (New England thrift), but, as one who was constantly misplacing things, he admired one quality above all: "Mary Solomon can find anything!"
Frank was very generous to our family. In addition to treating my parents to many memorable meals out, he provided financial assistance to my brother when he needed it, and even left my widowed mother some money in his will.
Thank you, Frank, for the friendship and generosity you showed my family for so many years.
