Ben cruised across the finish line at home in Sausalito, CA, surrounded by his wife and son. After a multilingual early childhood in Tel Aviv and Tehran, Ben's family settled in San Francisco. He studied philosophy and psychology at UC Berkeley, developing a passion for understanding the human brain, and worked summers as a state beach lifeguard. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I just heard that Ben had passed and wanted to extend sincere condolences to his wife, son, and friends. He was a memorable person and I really enjoyed the times I got to talk with him.

I found Ben a kind, generous and thoughful person. HIs appreciation for beautiful, imaginative, or quick cars was central to his persona. That was only part of the totality of this exceptional person. His humane interest, as shown in his professional life, will remain as a lasting contribution to the betterment of the human condition. Aa to his love of cars, "A thing of Beaty is a joy forever."

Dr. Brown had a passion for MRI and he passed that passion on to everyone who worked for him. He used to pick blackberries at lunch for everyone in the MRI Department. What an exceptional human being. He will be missed.

Ben's love of fast cars, and biscotti, really has made for a great Saturday morning time with many of his friends at Poggios in Sausalito. He brought an interesting mix of cars and people together that shared a common enjoyable bond.
