John Walsh Obituary

John Patrick Walsh, Jr. Passed away on May 5, 2006 Beloved husband to Rose De Gennaro for 56 years. Loving father to Janet and Deborah; devoted grandfather to Jamie and Rachel; and devoted mother-in-law Innocenza De Gennaro; and brother to the late Thomas and Roger Walsh. Born in San Francisco on Nov. 27, 1922, attended St. John's Grammar School and St. Peter's High School. Decorated veteran of WWII. Graduated with bachelor of science degree in architecture and became a licensed architect in the early 1950s. He worked as a project architect on numerous schools in Northern California and also worked on hospitals and churches. His greatest passion and pride was the work accomplished at St. Ignatius College Preparatory School working closely with Father Carlin. At retirement he volunteered at St. Patrick's Church School, teaching remedial math and reading to the first and second graders and enjoyed it tremendously. He will be missed by many, but at last he will be at peace with our Lord. Vigil Service to be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9 at Daphne Funerals Marin, 601 Tamalpais Dr., Corte Madera, Marin. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church in Larkspur, Wed. morning at 11:30 a.m., followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA.
